The Society for Danish Jewish History was founded in 1980 to promote knowledge about Danish Jewish history, culture and genealogy.
In 2013 The Society for Danish Jewish History and The Jewish Genealogical Society in Denmark (JGS) merged. Therefore the Danish Jewish Genealogical Database initiated by JGS is now available to all members of the Society with an e-mail address. Likewise, the Bibliography of Jewish History and Genealogy published by JGS in 2008 is now available for members of the Society.
The Society arranges 4-6 lectures or events annually and publishes the journal RAMBAM in December.
The Society is a member of The Danish Historical Joint Council and International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies.
